Track Two-Wheeler Service History & Warranty in India – Online & Offline

You don’t need to be a mechanic to take care of your two-wheeler. But you do need to know where your service records and warranty history are because ignoring them can cost you money.
In India today, most brands have shifted to app-based records, but a few still rely on offline stamps or dealer logs. If you’re not careful, your next free service might get skipped, or your warranty claim could be rejected just because of a missing update.
This guide shows you how to stay in control whether you ride an EV or a petrol scooter, in a metro city or a small town.
1. Where 2-Wheeler Service History Is Stored
1.1 Brand Apps (Most Common)
Almost every major two-wheeler brand in India now has a mobile app:
- Hero: Hero Connect, Xtapp
- TVS: TVS SmartXonnect
- Honda: My Honda+
- Bajaj, Yamaha, Suzuki: Varies by dealership but often SMS-linked
- EVs (Ather, Ola, Bounce, River): Fully app-integrated with service logs, ride stats, error logs, battery status
Most of these apps show:
- Your service log (with dates and job numbers)
- Free services used vs pending
- Warranty coverage and expiry
- RC or insurance status (for some EVs)
1.2 Dealer or Brand Portals
Some brands also let you log in via website:
- Enter your mobile number or chassis number
- Download past service invoices
- Raise service requests or complaints
Ask your dealership if they have a digital record some multi-brand service chains also track this.
1.3 Physical Booklet or Service Card (Still Exists)
For petrol bikes and scooters, many dealerships still stamp:
- Each service visit (job card number + dealer code)
- Warranty validation (especially in smaller towns)
- Free service tracking (1st to 5th)
EV buyers may not receive a booklet, but it’s good to ask at delivery if one is provided.
2. How to Know If You’ve Used All Your Free Services
Check your app’s “Service” section or visit your brand’s portal. You’ll usually see:
- Services completed
- Upcoming free service with due date/kilometer
- Missed or expired ones
Don’t rely on SMS reminders alone they often come late or not at all.
Missed one? You can’t claim it later the count doesn’t reset.
3. Warranty Status – Where to Find It and Why It Matters
In your app or customer portal, you’ll usually find:
- Start and end date of base warranty
- Extended warranty (if purchased)
- What’s covered: engine, electrical, battery (for EVs), charger
- Terms like unlimited km or 3 years
Screenshot this page for backup. You may need it during breakdowns or parts claims.
4. What If Your Service History Doesn’t Show Up?
This is common even in metro cities.
Possible reasons:
- Dealer didn’t sync job card
- Wrong phone number used
- Vehicle serviced in another city
- System delay or app bug
What you can do:
- Call the service center and request a manual sync
- Provide job card number and invoice copy
- Raise a support request through app or brand email
- Keep your own records in case it’s not updated
If your warranty is at stake, escalate immediately with brand customer care.
5. Why This Matters for Resale, Warranty, and Insurance
- When you sell your vehicle, buyers prefer a clean, trackable service record
- For warranty claims, incomplete history can delay or deny approval
- Even insurance repairs (engine damage, electric faults) sometimes ask for last service date
Your history isn’t just for you it shows you’ve taken care of your vehicle.
6. How to Keep Your Own Backup (Takes 5 Minutes)
Even if you use the app, do this:
- Create a folder on your phone: “Bike Service”
- Save:
- Each invoice PDF or photo
- Service stamps (booklet photos)
- Warranty card
- RC and insurance docs
- Once a year, download your app records (if supported)
If you ever switch brands or sell, these records make your life easier.
So take few minutes after every visit to check your app, save your invoice, and keep a clean record. That small habit will protect your two-wheeler for years and save you money when it matters most.
